The Arabic language is so rich with vocabulary, which makes it interesting. I enjoy it and master it well. Although I have never taught Arabic before, yet I have experience teaching in general and I am looking forward to teaching young students through the Kalamna programme. I teach Sociology at the American University in Cairo so my students are in their late teens and early twenties. Teaching in general is a very rewarding process and it enabled me to learn a lot from my students. I believe it is a process of reciprocity between teacher and student/s. I also teach jewellery making courses with the Design Studio Azza Fahmy, which gave me experience teaching to different age groups and sharing my knowledge with others. Before that I used to work with various development organisations related to child protection, gender research and environmental development.

 I am a mother of three daughters, one already working, two in university.
