Saussan teaches at the University of Cambridge, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, with a PhD in Arabic sociolinguistics and an MA by Research in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language, University of Leeds, postgraduate Certificate for Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language (CTAFL), SOAS, London and BA English Literature, Alexandria University, Egypt. She is an advisory board member of the Cambridge Research in Community Language Education Network (CRiCLE), member of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL), the British Society for Middle Eastern Studies (BRISMES) and the United Nations Association UK (UNA UK). She is the author of Arabic Writing in the Digital Age: Towards a Theoretical Framework, and the creator of the Kalamna Phonics Toolkit.
