															Early Foundations
At Kalamna, we pride ourselves on offering classes that empower our students with the tools and skills they need to connect with and celebrate their culture and heritage.
While we are mostly known to do so through our Arabic language classes, we have seen a consistent demand for the same style of classes in the Islamic studies space. We are particularly pleased to have teamed with Doaa Baumi, PhD, an accomplished Islamic studies scholar and teacher to develop and deliver a Kalamna-style curriculum which follows the same academic rigour we have become known for in Arabic. We have also consulted with a psychologist to ensure our material is age appropriate and that our focus is to foster a love for Islam and its teachings, while at the same time encouraging independent thinking.
In Islam 1 classes, we introduce the religion by singing along to our favourite Islamic songs, listen to stories about our beloved prophets, exploring the five pillars and learning some of Allah’s 99 names.
